The easiest way is to write about your desire to join the clan in the general chat of the game.
To follow up on this. Clan leaders and member with permission to invite, need to invite you in person.
This means you have to meet somewhere in a city/village and after they invite you, you need to face them and hold F to open the interaction wheel. The clan invite can be accepted there by looking towards the choice.
